All of us have been really busy these past few days due to our schools reopening. Yesterday, we were finally able to practice and it was not easy. There has been a lot of violence and people are burning tires and effigies all around Jammu. The atmosphere is quite tense right now. It was very difficult to convince our parents to let us go to practice. Abhay, Anirudh, Ankit, Krishna and I came to practice while Vaibhav arrived a little later. Hamza was absent as he is in Kishtawar right now. All of us are worried as Kishtawar has been the center of all these religious disputes and we haven’t been able to contact him. Now, on with the practice session summary.
The first match was Anirudh and Ankit against Abhay, Krishna and me. Abhay was our goalkeeper and as the opposition had just two players we allowed them to keep Last Man Keeper*. We were dominant from the start but failed to convert the scoring opportunities. Later, Krishna scored off a pass from me and Vaibhav also arrived ending the match.
The next match was Ankit, Vaibhav and I against Abhay, Anirudh and Krishna and this time we chose to implement the Last Man Keeper* rule for both the sides. This time I was the playmaker of the team while Ankit and Vaibhav were the forwards. Ankit lost possession of the ball to Krishna and he shot the ball into our empty goal putting us in a one-goal deficit. We composed ourselves and after some passing, Vaibhav scored the equalizer. The score was 1-1. Then they lost possession again and Ankit passed the ball to me. I had a clear shot at goal and made a powerful shot making the score 2-1 in our favour. Just a few minutes a later Vaibhav scored a brilliant goal dribbling past two of their players and slotting the ball into the goal. After that it was just a flurry of goals from all of us. They offered little resistance. Anirudh did make a few attemps which I blocked and Krishna defended well while Abhay was almost non-existent. Ankit and I ended up scoring 4 goals apiece and Vaibhav was the top scorer with 6 goals. The match ended 14-3.
*Last Man Keeper means that the player closest to his goal will become the goalkeeper.
